Our Misión
We are a 12-member non-profit 501 (c) (3) educational organization. La Santa Cruz de la Concepcion Tejanos SCCT promotes, educates y preserves Tejano history and culture to better understand the impact we have had and will continue to have on our American way of Life.
The Spanish Land Grant
La Santa Cruz de la Concepcion is an old Spanish Land Grant. It was granted to Spaniard Don Francisco Cordente in the year of 1809 in what is now known as Concepcion, Tx. In 2012, we took our organizational name from this Spanish land grant y use the acronym "SCCT". Concepcion is in a nine (9) county area in la "Corazón de Tejano South Texas," we call "La Brasada". Concepcion was first recognized in 1768.

SCCT Major Accomplishments
A. 1850' - The second Tejano Historic Building Site marker in Texas:
"Martinez Casa de Sillar" - Concepcion, Tx.
B. 1880'- The first Tejano Historic Burial Site marker in Texas:
"Cementerio de Concepcion" - Concepcion, Tx.
C. 1940' - Original, "La Loteria", glass y wooded framed. Donated y displayed at the Mexican American Institute of Studies at Texas A&M University in Kingsville Tx.
It's the only display in Tejano South Texas y probably Texas.
D."La Brasada" One acre tract( una manzana) acquired ownership
from the
Diocese of Corpus Christi. - Rios, Tx.
E. International y National Landmark Tejano Documentary Film:
" Los Tejanos.........a 500-year History! ".

This is the only display of fire brands in Tejano South Texas y possibly Texas. These brands are registered/certified with the design, year registered dating back to 1865. The meaning of the designs y the history told in the families own words.
